The Reading Public Museum and Arboretum is looking for members of the community to join in the camaraderie of their annual Arboretum Fall Clean-Up Day. This event, organized by the Reading Public Museum Arboretum Committee, will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016, from 9 a.m. until noon.
There is no scheduled rain date for this event. Last year’s event brought dozens of energetic volunteers together to help put the Museum’s award-winning grounds “to bed for the winter.” The Museum hopes the community will once again pitch-in to assist in this enormous undertaking.
Volunteers will help groom the grounds (i.e. raking leaves, sweeping, picking up debris, etc.). Individuals, neighborhood and family groups, student groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, garden clubs, and church groups are encouraged to participate. No experience is necessary.
All levels of gardener volunteers are welcome. Bring your leaf rake (if you have one) and your enthusiasm. The Arboretum Committee will supply gardening gloves and refreshments. Come and help “polish” one of Reading’s landmark jewels.
To register, call 610-371-5850 x239, and leave your name and phone number no later than October 31.
